The Flagship Project European Heritage in the Jagiellonian Library: Digital Authoring of the Berlin Collections. Core Facility (DiHeLib) has been carried out at the Jagiellonian University since 2022 within the framework of the Strategic Programme Excellence Initiative – Research University.
The project aims to initiate activities related to the cataloguing and digitisation of manuscript collections from the former Prussian State Library in Berlin, as well as to develop research on these materials using artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the Autograph Collection (Sammlung Autographa). One of the project’s key objectives is the development of the Arcarium system enabling work on manuscripts.
The project results will provide a foundation for further specialised research into the most culturally significant parts of the Autograph Collection. The infrastructure and research methodologies developed within the project will also be transferable to the study of other manuscript collections.
