Norbert Nocóń

He has been affiliated with the Jagiellonian Library in Kraków since 2017, where he has served as Head of the Digitisation Department since 2022. He oversees the development of digital resources, contributes to the Jagiellonian Digital Library, and leads the design and implementation of digital services supporting both the library and the wider academic community. He is also responsible for coordinating the acquisition and provision of scholarly electronic resources and for developing tools that support the discovery, retrieval, and analysis of academic content.

He is actively involved in projects focused on the digitisation and dissemination of scientific and cultural heritage, working with national and international partners and contributing to nationwide initiatives aimed at strengthening information infrastructure and digital resource development.

His research interests centre on the application of artificial intelligence in scholarly digital resources and library services, with particular emphasis on the opportunities, challenges, and risks associated with AI-driven solutions. He is also interested in methods for enhancing the discovery and analysis of academic content, the evaluation of electronic resource usage using the COUNTER standard, and the development of digital ecosystems supporting scholarly communication and research. His work further engages with digital libraries, especially in relation to the organisation, accessibility, and long-term preservation of digital collections, and their role in facilitating open and effective access to knowledge and scientific heritage.
